NLV Health Insurance Over 70
The start-date ages covered here are 70–74 — the last stretch of the published entry age for Sanitas Residents Visado, which runs to 75 inclusive. The product question was settled a band earlier. The question here is the other end: how much of that entry-age window a chosen start date leaves you inside, and what an intervening birthday does to it. 75 itself and 76 and above are the subject of the over-75 page.
The upper entry age is now the one in view.
At a start-date age of 70–74, Sanitas Residents Visado is within its entry-age range and Sanitas Residents Platinum Visado is not. That much was settled a band earlier, and the over-65 page is where the change of route is worked through. What is different here is the other end: the published entry age for Residents Visado runs to 75, inclusive, and this band ends the year below it.
What “in view” actually means
It does not mean anything is closing. Every start date inside this band sits within the published entry age for Residents Visado, on exactly the same terms as the bands below it. What changes is that the distance between the age you will be on your start date and 75 is now short enough that the date itself can carry you across it — which is why the two sections below are about dates rather than about products.
Above 75 on the start date, the position is different. The over-75 page carries the whole of that answer — 75 itself, 76 and above, and exactly what is on offer in each case.
The questionnaire does not change with the band.
Both visa products are arranged on a health questionnaire, and the conditions are explicit that the agreement is closed on the basis of the declarations made in it. That is true at every age, and nothing about it is specific to this band. The underwriting guide sets out what declaring precisely involves and there is deliberately no second version of it here; the documents page covers what an application needs alongside it.
One point matters here more than anywhere else: being in a position to answer accurately is a scheduling matter, and scheduling is what a start date is. Readiness is an input to the date you choose rather than something to settle once the date is fixed.
What a quote needs is the same here as anywhere.
A quote is built from a short list of details, none of them medical, each of which has to be accurate. The cost guide lists them, sets out the factors the conditions name a premium as being calculated from, covers payment frequency and what happens at renewal, and explains why no figure appears anywhere on this site. Only one of those details is band-sensitive, and it is the intended start date, because that is the date your age is read on.
How much of the entry age a date leaves you inside.
Every band page on this site says the same thing about which age counts: the one you will be on the policy start date. In the bands below, that rule mostly settles which product is open. Here it does something else, because the published entry age for Sanitas Residents Visado ends at 75 and a start-date age of 70–74 is already inside its final stretch. The date is no longer only choosing when cover begins. It is choosing which side of 75 you are read against.
| What you are choosing | What it settles here |
|---|---|
| A start date inside this band | Your start-date age stays at 70–74, which is within the published entry age for Residents Visado. Moving the date within that range does not change the eligibility answer. |
| A start date with a birthday before it | The age read is the one after the birthday, not the one you hold when you enquire. Inside this band that changes an input without changing the answer; at the top of it, it can change which side of 75 you are read against. |
| A start date some way ahead | The check is against the age you will be then. A date far enough ahead can put that age at 75 or beyond, which is a different question from this one. |
None of this makes an earlier date better. A start date should reflect a genuine need for cover to begin then and must remain consistent with the documentation and requirements applicable to the application — it is not a lever to be pulled for an entry age. The start-date guide covers how the date is chosen, and how far in advance a policy can be arranged is a question we do not publish an answer to.

Both are planning cases rather than boundary cases — the boundary arithmetic lives on the age hub. Dates are illustrative.
A birthday inside the planning window
An applicant is working towards a start date in September, with a birthday on 3 August. Both dates sit inside this band, so the product question does not change.
- The birthday still changes something. Age attained is read on the policy start date, so the age the quote is calculated from is the one after the birthday rather than before it.
- What that does to a number is a matter for your own quote. Age attained is one of the named premium factors, so your own figure comes back with your quote.
- The eligibility answer is unaffected here, because the entry age above this band is 75.
A start date a long way ahead
The check is against the age you will be on that date, not the age you hold now — row three of the table above. If that age reaches 76 or above, the over-75 page carries the answer instead. How far in advance a policy can be arranged is a separate question, and not one we publish an answer to.
