NLV Health Insurance Over 60, 65, 70 & 75

Two Sanitas visa products, two different entry ages, and one calculation that decides which of them you can apply for: your age on the policy start date. Below: the two entry ages side by side, what each band means in practice, and the page written for your band, and says plainly what is on offer above the upper limit.

How Age Is Assessed

One date decides it.

Your age on the policy start date

Not your age today. Not your age when you enquire, and not your age on the day the application is made. If a birthday falls before the date you want cover to begin, the age you will be on that date is the one that counts.

What an entry age is, and what it settles

An entry age is a rule written into a product’s own conditions and applied to a date. Being inside one opens an application rather than settling it: both products require a health questionnaire, and the conditions state the agreement is closed on the basis of the declarations made in it. Sitting outside one is not a judgement about you or about your health — the rule applies to every applicant at that age, and it is settled before any application is made.

Both entry ages below are read against that date, and so is every line of the band table beneath them — which is why a birthday sitting between an enquiry and a start date can move you from one line to the next. Choosing the date itself is a separate decision: the start-date guide covers it.

The Entry Ages

What each product accepts.

Both limits are inclusive and both are measured on the policy start date. An entry age is a gate on applying, which is why the third column matters as much as the second.

ProductAccepts applicantsWhat that does — and doesn’t — mean
Sanitas Residents Visado Up to and including age 75, on the policy start date. You can apply. The application is then assessed on your health questionnaire like any other. Product page.
Sanitas Residents Platinum Visado Up to and including age 64, on the policy start date. The same — being inside the entry age opens the application, it does not settle it. Product page.

Find Your Band

Four bands, four pages, the same two ages.

Whichever band brought you here resolves against the two entry ages above and one date. The row is the answer; the page is the detail.

The band pageWhat your age on the policy start date settlesWhat that page carries
NLV insurance over 60 Start-date ages 60–64. At or below 64: both visa products sit within their own entry-age ranges. The crossing — what changes when a birthday takes a start-date age past that limit, and what it leaves alone.
NLV insurance over 65 Start-date ages 65–69. Above 64: Sanitas Residents Visado is within its entry-age range and Sanitas Residents Platinum Visado is not. The route change — what closes when the Platinum entry age is behind you, and what it leaves untouched.
NLV insurance over 70 Start-date ages 70–74 — the last stretch below the Residents Visado entry age of 75. The window — how much of the published entry age a chosen start date leaves you inside, and what an intervening birthday does to it.
NLV insurance over 75 75 on that date is within the Residents Visado entry age; 76 and above is outside the published standard entry age. The upper boundary, stated exactly, with three worked cases.

The bands have no edges of their own: every line is those same two entry ages read against one date. Which is why the two pages sitting on a boundary — over 60 at the lower, over 75 at the upper — are the ones that work the crossings.

Above The Upper Limit

If you are 76 or older on the start date.

Age 75 on the policy start date is within the published entry age for Sanitas Residents Visado; once a start-date age reaches 76, it is outside the published standard entry age, and what we offer then is a review of whether any available Sanitas route exists — never a promise that one does.

The over-75 page carries that answer in full: where the line falls, what the review is, and what it is not.

Couples And Families

Couples with an age gap.

Each person’s age is assessed on the same policy start date, so a couple can easily sit on opposite sides of an entry age — one with both products in range, one with a single option.

What we will not do is describe how that is then structured. Whether it is handled as one policy or two is confirmed case by case rather than settled by a rule we can point you at. It is worth raising early, because it shapes how the whole application is assembled.

Common Questions

Your questions, answered.

There are two entry ages, one per product: up to and including 75 for Residents Visado and 64 for Residents Platinum Visado, both measured on the policy start date. Above the upper one we offer a review of whether any available Sanitas route exists — and nothing more than that.
The conditions name age attained among the factors used to calculate the premium, so age is a pricing input. Your own premium comes back with your quote — the cost guide covers what the conditions actually name.
No. Being inside an entry age means you can apply. Both products require a health questionnaire, the agreement is closed on the basis of the declarations made in it, and the insurer assesses the application from those declarations. Two separate gates — the disclosure guide covers the second.
Once a start-date age reaches 76 we can review whether any available Sanitas route exists for your circumstances, and we will tell you clearly if none can be identified. The over-75 page sets out exactly what that review is and what it is not.
